No White Lies
About Stephanie Omens.
A licensed creative arts therapist & certified child life specialist, Stephanie understands on a deeply personal level the stark reality facing many families. She changes lives everyday at Hackensack University Medical Center, where she works with children, parents, grandparents, & loved ones battling chronic, life threatening illnesses.
Stephanie holds a MA, RDT, LCAT, CCLS.
When children enter the hospital, their playing stops. This is when Stephanie enters the picture. She creates an environment where children can play & learn simultaneously. After years of experience, she's become very skilled at explaining serious illness & death to children.
Stephanie realized she could help many more families with a platform anyone & everyone could use. Harnessing her unique ability to tell truth in tough times & bringing it into the iPhone & app-centered age - No White Lie was born.
Welcome to the easiest tough conversation you'll ever have.
Perhaps the best way to sum up Stephanie's mission, and the genesis of No White Lie, is to share a quote from one of her patients -
“Stephanie made herself available to me with her heart and soul and very sharp mind and stepped away from her Saturday night plans to spend a long time on the phone with me helping me on how to go tell S that his mom died. Then two days later we were back in her office again so that Stephanie could talk with S about his feelings and emotions on his mother passing and to help him to understand about what a funeral is so that he’d be able to go to his mom’s funeral...”
